■ INTRODUCTION The word theory comes from the Greek word theorein, which means “to look at” or, “to contemplate the divine.” This chapter discusses the anatomy and physiology of theory while providing important tools and skills that will enable the reader to not only understand, model, and describe complex theories, but also have the ability to deconstruct theory into individual components.
